PLAN LIBERTAD MARAGOGYPE

This washed Maragogype from Don Ezequiel Diaz offers a bright, expressive cup with standout clarity. Expect ripe mango upfront, followed by soft stone fruit sweetness and a lift of citrus on the finish. Clean, vibrant and elegantly structured, it’s a refined showcase of this rare varietal at its best.

The Producer

DON EZEQUIEL DIAZ

High in the remote mountains above the Plan Libertad community, Don Ezequiel Diaz tends three hectares of land on the edge of the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve. Reaching his farm is no small feat; a two-hour trek through dense, rugged terrain tests both endurance and determination.

There, for more than 20 years, he has grown traditional Mexican coffee varieties in close harmony with this challenging landscape. In recent years, working alongside importer Edelmira has allowed him to refine his approach and invest in the future of his farm, with a dedicated Maragogype nursery now underway.

The Varietal

MARAGOGYPE

Maragogype, often referred to as 'The Elephant Bean', is a rare coffee varietal known for its unusually large beans and clean, bright cup. It’s naturally sweet and fruit-forward, with flavours that are easy to enjoy and a clarity that makes each note stand out.

However, this is massively dependent on the quality of soil it's grown in, making good examples of Maragogype difficult to seek out.

Grown well though, its uniqueness comes through both in its size and its flavour, making it a special coffee worth seeking out.

Billing Cycles

Your subscription will renew on the same date that you signed up, every month. Your coffee for the month will be dispatched as soon as possible after your subscription renews.

NOTE: If you subscribe before 01/02/26 then your renewal date will be manually adjusted to first renew 01/03/26 and on the 1st of every month thereafter.

What coffees will i get?

It's a mystery, that's the point! We can only promise that each month's coffee will be different, be it through process, origin, varietal or a combination of things, and always sourced as traceably as possible so that we can give you maximum insight into where your beans are coming from.

What if I don't like a coffee?

Hard to imagine, I know, but not every coffee can suit every pallette. The whole concept behing Roaster's Choice is that we'll be challenging you to try something that you wouldn't otherwise have been able to.

So if one coffee doesn't suit you, we encourage you to stick with us. They won't all be whacky anaerobic fruit bombs, or super lightly roasted Geishas, some will just be really really good at being solid everyday brews!

Can I combine roaster's choice with any of your other subscriptions?

Absolutely! If you have any questions about consolidating subscriptions into single shipments, or adjusting billing dates to spread them out then you can either make changes through the subscription portal, or just email tom@fullspectrumcoffee.com
